Explore 29 Fresh Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Set (Featuring a Commander-Style Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-eating heroes are arriving to the popular trading card game. The well-known TCG's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive panel held at New York Comic Con. Is this a radical addition or yet another Universes Beyond marketing move? Let you be the judge.

Check out here at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including key context. Everything mentioned below releases on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27th.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before we get into the many special decks and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by the developers. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let’s explore a few surprising features. First, there's a new mechanic named Sneak Attack, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, in which gamers can play big creatures onto the game field whenever an attacking creature goes unblocked. The key change in this case is that this new ability can affect spells that aren’t creatures too. The designers also took the opportunity to clean up the mechanic a bit (It is treated as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are we'll see the new mechanic in upcoming expansions moving forward.

Should we go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use the original ability because that's where it originated and it is iconic of that world,” a senior designer explained. “However on other planes, because the mechanics are smoother and the new ability is what's going to be Standard-legal, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four special cards with unique artwork created specifically for the set by TMNT original artist the co-creator.

Oh, and, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing game cards outside of your deck, so was I. But as per the developers, that's now a official card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, below are the highly unusual full-art lands from this set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers say they took care to make sure the cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for 15 months and we were aware it would be Standard-legal and which sets were going to be alongside it in Standard,” the designer commented. “Our goal was to make sure that there's synergy with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet strategy focused on artifact cards.

“They mesh together to offer the pieces for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” he added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power!

After declining to design any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary cards that can serve as your Commander based on how you combine them (five of the cards have a special Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command zone rather than only one). Check them out below:

The Turtle Power precon is set at $69.99, though the price may rise due to popularity. Sources indicated that it contains 43 new cards in total, which means an extra 37 TMNT-themed cards in addition to the six legendary creatures shown earlier. (Calculating roughly, this suggests about 20 reprinted cards if we assume the precon includes 37 lands.)

How will the TMNT version of Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and see.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

Typically, Wizards is offering a bundle. This one costs $69.99 and contains the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • 15 Traditional foil basic lands
  • 15 Non-foil land cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • 1 Traditional foil promotional card
  • One Oversized life tracker
  • 1 storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, primarily because it is packaged in what looks like a pizza box. Each pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Foil pizza-themed lands
  • Two Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Oversized life tracker
  • 1 Card-storage box

If you’re wondering what a “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring all-new Turtle-themed artwork. The team revealed one for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter sprinkling toppings on a pizza. In total, there are six distinct pizza promos available.

This special bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is designed for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Play Boosters (the perfect amount a group of four to play draft)
  • One Premium Booster (aka, the prize for coming in first)
  • 90 Non-foil land cards (to build your draft deck)
  • Ten Regular double-sided tokens
  • One Draft insert (a single-page guide to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic products aimed at new players. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend team up against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The general idea here that every Boss card grants special abilities to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
